In this post, I’m sharing a simple recipe so you can prepare these tasty Buffalo wings made from cauliflower at home.
Ingredients
- 1 medium cauliflower
- 125g flour (can also be gluten-free, e.g., rice flour)
- 240ml plant-based milk (e.g., almond milk or oat milk)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 125ml hot Buffalo sauce (vegan)
- 2 tbsp melted plant-based butter substitute (e.g., margarine)
Instructions
- Break the cauliflower into small florets and remove any excess leaves.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the plant-based milk into another bowl.
- Dip the cauliflower florets first into the plant-based milk and then coat them in the flour mixture until fully covered.
- Place the breaded cauliflower florets on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 200°C for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- In a small bowl, mix the Buffalo sauce and melted plant-based butter substitute.
- Toss the baked cauliflower Buffalo wings in the sauce, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Bake the wings for an additional 5-10 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken and the wings to become even crispier.
- Remove the cauliflower Buffalo wings from the oven and serve.
